Description
This delicate table-top item is made from 24 strands of white 100% cotton string woven between 336 individual poly-cotton warp strings, which is a fancy way of saying that I had left-over sections of white strings when I was re-warping the loom and didn’t want them to go to waste. I combed out these excess bundles and worked them through the new warp, which is a cheerful design of mustard yellow, brick red, and dovetail grey that offers a hint of light blue.
This unique little mat has double-knotted fringe for a decorative effect. Some imperfections in the body are due to joining the sections together. The body (white part) is 4.5″ wide, and edges of fringe are each about 2″ wide.
